Imagine two learners. The first studies English for two hours every Sunday and does nothing for the rest of the week. The second studies for fifteen minutes every day. After one month, who knows more? In most cases, the second learner. Small daily practice beats long, rare practice, and there are good reasons for this.
The first reason is memory. Your brain keeps what it meets often. When you see a new word on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, it begins to feel familiar. When you see it once and then wait a week, much of it is gone. Short and regular contact with English is like watering a plant every day instead of pouring a large bucket once a month.
The second reason is energy. Two hours of hard study makes you tired, and a tired brain learns badly. After that, you may not want to study again for days. Fifteen minutes is easy to start. You do not need a perfect desk or a quiet house. You can study on the bus, in a waiting room or before sleep.
The third reason is habit. A habit is something you do without long thinking. If you study at the same time every day, for example after breakfast, your brain begins to expect it. After a few weeks, studying feels as normal as brushing your teeth. This is the real secret of long-term success.
Here is a simple plan. Choose one fixed time. Decide on a small task, such as five new words, one short dialogue and one quick quiz. Use the daily counter on this website to see your progress. If you miss a day, do not feel guilty. Just start again the next day. One missed day is not a problem. Two missed days are a warning. Three missed days begin to destroy the habit.
Remember, you do not need a lot of time. You need to come back every day.
Fifteen focused minutes every day beat two hours once a week.
