Two goats live near a deep river. A narrow bridge crosses it. One goat lives on the left side. The other lives on the right side. One morning, both goats walk onto the bridge at the same time.

They meet in the middle. The bridge is too narrow for two goats. “Move back!” says the first goat. “I am here first!” “No, you move back,” says the second goat. “I am stronger.”

They push each other. They both fall into the river. The water is cold. They swim to the side, wet and angry. “We should help each other,” says one goat. The other agrees.
