Many learners translate every sentence in their heads. They hear "I have a cat", turn it into Arabic, think about the meaning, and then prepare an answer in Arabic, which they translate back into English. This is slow and tiring, and it often produces strange sentences. A better goal is to think in English, little by little.

You do not need to be advanced to start. At the beginning, thinking in English means connecting a word directly to a picture, a feeling or a situation, without the middle step. When you see an apple, think "apple", not the Arabic word. When you feel hungry, think "I am hungry". When you open the door, think "I am opening the door". Your brain slowly builds a second path to the idea.

Here are some easy exercises. In the morning, name five things around you in English. While you walk, describe what you see in short sentences: "A man is crossing the road. The bus is late." Before you sleep, say three things you did today: "I went to work. I drank coffee. I called my mother." Keep the sentences simple. Do not worry if you do not know a word. Use a simple word you know, or say "thing", and look up the right word later.

Pictures help a lot. Use a picture dictionary or the images on this website. When you learn a word with a picture, you connect it to the idea itself, not to another word.

Is translation always bad? No. Translation is useful when you meet a new word, and it can save time. The point is to reduce it step by step. Start with the objects and actions around you, then move to feelings, and later to more complex ideas.

With time, you will notice a moment when an English sentence comes into your mind by itself. That is a very happy moment.
